Product Description

         Single crystal corundum is a high-grade abrasive made from high-quality alumina through high-temperature smelting and crystallization. Its crystal structure is dense and uniform, in the form of α-Al2O3 single crystals, with a purity of over 99%, ensuring the outstanding performance of the product from the source. In terms of performance, the hardness of single crystal corundum reaches 9 on the Mohs scale. Compared with natural corundum, it has higher wear resistance and impact toughness, and can withstand high-intensity grinding pressure without cracking. It also has a unique self-sharpening property. During use, after the abrasive grains wear out, they will naturally form new sharp cutting edges, continuously maintaining high-efficiency grinding capabilities and significantly improving processing efficiency. Meanwhile, single crystal corundum has excellent chemical stability and can operate stably under complex working conditions such as high temperatures and acids and alkalis. Its service life is 2 to 3 times that of ordinary abrasives.

Applications

1. Application

Vitrified, resin and rubber grinding wheels, widely working on quenched tool steel, high speed steel, bearing steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, titanium steel, vanadium steel and such materials with high hardness and toughness.
2. Characteristic
It is produced by fusion of aluminum oxide and other auxiliary materials in electric arc furnace. It appears light blue color and multi-edged with good natural grain shape. The numbers of complete crystals exceed 95%. Its compressive strength is more than 26N and toughness is 90.5%. Sharp corners, good brittleness and high toughness are the nature of blue mono-crystalline aluminum oxide. Its quality is far better than previous grey ones. Grinding wheels made of it have smooth grinding surface and won't burn work piece. As well, there is no odor and no pollution. It is a new and widely used abrasive material.
